  • 2017 NCKU Space International Symposium release its Conclusions, Policy & Strategic Recommendations Report

The first ‘NCKU Space’ international space symposium organized on November 8-11, 2017 at Taiwan’s National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) released a report on the ‘Conclusions, Policy and Strategic Recommendations’ of the international space symposium.

In the report, the participants of the 2017 NCKU Space International Symposium highlighted the point about Taiwan’s unique situation in the international astropolitics which has been impacted on its space capabilities development in the past. The continuous governmental supports to Taiwan’s future space technologic capabilities building, space economic and industrial force development are noted indispensable. It is also generally noticed by the national and international participants of the 2017 NCKU Space that Taiwan could continue develop its space tech niche toward the global market through the small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Furthermore, a UP-UP-UP (UP³) Space Industry / Space Economy Development Model, a University-Public Services/University-Private sector/University-People development model for space can sustainably develop and improve Taiwan’s continuous space capabilities building. Finally, the report suggests, as Taiwan also has its own space assets, Taiwan space industry development matters to global space governance. Likewise, global space governance also matters to Taiwan.
